Zenith with Dentrix
Dentrix practices, answered after the front desk goes home.
Dentrix runs on a server in the practice, so the connection does too. Once it is in place, Zenith reads the appointment book, recalls and balances, books the visits patients ask for on the phone or by text, and leaves the clinical record exactly where it is.
How it connects
A connector beside your practice server.
Dentrix is installed on a server at the practice rather than offered as a hosted API. Zenith's connector runs against that server with access your office grants, and is set up with your IT provider.
On your server
The connector reads and writes the Dentrix database at the practice, not a copy held somewhere else.
Scoped access
It works only with the scheduling, recall, patient contact and balance data Zenith needs.
Watched
If the practice server is offline, Zenith stops offering times rather than booking blind, and takes a callback instead.
Reads and writes
The Dentrix data Zenith works with.
- Appointment book
- Read for open times by provider and operatory. Written when a patient books, moves or cancels.
- Patients
- Read to match a caller by phone and verified details. A new patient is added when they book a first visit.
- Continuing care
- Read to find patients due or overdue for hygiene and exams.
- Patient balance
- Read so a verified patient can hear what they owe after insurance.
- Last visit and provider
- Read for the caller card.
Who answers
What Zenith answers, and what your office keeps.
| Call | Zenith | Your office |
|---|---|---|
| Book or move a cleaning | Books it in Dentrix and confirms by text | Sees it on the schedule |
| New patient | Takes details and books a first visit | Receives the intake on the thread |
| Overdue for hygiene | Reminds and books from continuing care | Nothing, unless the patient asks for a person |
| Question about a bill | Shares the balance once verified | Handles any dispute or payment plan |
| Pain or an emergency | Routes straight to the office or on-call line | Takes the call with the context |
Patient details
Set up for patient data before day one.
No details by text
Patient details are not sent by text. Texts confirm a time, never a treatment.
Agreement first
Dental workspaces are set up under a business associate agreement before a practice goes live.
Verified on calls
Appointments and balances are discussed only once the caller is verified.
On its own, and where it stops
Zenith handles the routine. Your people handle the rest.
On its own, Zenith books and moves appointments in Dentrix and sends hygiene reminders. Emergencies, billing disputes and clinical questions go to your office, with the patient's context on screen.
Zenith answers, routes, books and handles routine questions on its own. Refunds, discounts, complaints, low reviews and campaigns wait for a person, and anyone on your team can take over a conversation at any time.
Your dataThe voice model carries the spoken conversation and nothing else. Your customer records stay in your own database, read only by your own agents.
Start here, keep the foundation
Start with one function. Add the rest without starting over.
Connect Dentrix and start with the calls that come after hours and during the morning rush: booking, rescheduling and new-patient visits. The same records then carry into continuing care recalls and review requests after a visit.
FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
Is the connection live today?
Connections are set up for each company when its Zenith instance is configured, and Ferrata confirms each one works on the company's own data before calls go live.
Why does Dentrix need a connector at the practice?
Dentrix is installed on a server in the practice, so Zenith's connector runs against that server rather than a hosted API. Ferrata sets it up with your IT provider. Open Dental, by contrast, is reached through its API.
What if our server is down?
Zenith stops offering appointment times, because it cannot confirm them, and takes a callback request instead. Bookings resume when the server is back.
Is patient information sent by text?
No. Patient details are not sent by text. Texts confirm a time and a location, and details are discussed on a call only after the caller is verified.
What has to be in place before our practice goes live?
Dental workspaces are set up under a business associate agreement before a practice goes live, and the connector is checked against your own appointment book before Zenith answers a call.
Is Zenith affiliated with Dentrix?
Zenith is an independent product and is not certified by or affiliated with Dentrix or its publisher. It connects through access your practice grants.
